Russian television broadcast the interrogations of the four arrested attackers belonging to the Islamic State. The terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the attack even published a photo of these four attackers.

They are of foreign origin, Tajik according to some sources, were arrested in the Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine and Belarus, and were then interrogated. Former Russian ambassador to Paris, Alexandre Orlov, says this is above all proof that the terrorist group is not involved. However, according to many specialists, the main suspect is indeed IS, in particular its Afghan branch, EI-K.
