Nearly two days after the attack which targeted a concert hall in Moscow, the human toll is dramatic with at least 133 dead. On Saturday, Russian television broadcast the interrogations of the four arrested attackers belonging to the Islamic State. But then, what is the real profile of the perpetrators of the attack?

At least 133 dead. A little more than 24 hours after the tragic attack which hit a concert hall in Moscow, the toll is rising. According to Russian authorities, eleven people were arrested, including four attackers believed to belong to the Islamic State group. But then, what is the profile of the perpetrators of the attack?

Interrogations broadcast on Russian television

The terrorist group that claimed responsibility for the attack even published a photo of these four attackers. They are of foreign origin, Tajik according to some sources, were arrested in the Bryansk region, bordering Ukraine and Belarus, and were then interrogated. These interrogations were even broadcast on Saturday by Russian television. Bloody ear, bandage on the face, one of the alleged attackers says he acted for money. On the other hand, the Islamic State is never mentioned.

Is this staged? For the former Russian ambassador to Paris, Alexandre Orlov, this is above all proof that the terrorist group is not involved. "I wonder what the interest is for Daesh in committing this crime today. It's a bit too easy an explanation. Who has the interest in destabilizing the regime in Moscow, in destabilizing Vladimir Putin? It's not Daesh ", he assures. However, according to many specialists, the main suspect is indeed IS, in particular its Afghan branch, EI-K. It has powerful networks in Tajikistan and had already targeted the Russian embassy in Kabul in 2022.
