Vladimir Solovyov, a prominent figure in the Kremlin-backed media, made this proposal during an episode of his program broadcast on the Rossiya-1 channel. According to Soloviesov, Moscow should supply the Houthis with weapons in retaliation for Western countries that continue to help Ukraine in its war against Russian forces.
The US State Department said that Soloviesova spreads misleading information from the Kremlin. Solovieson is also known for making controversial statements, such as indicating during a broadcast in the fall that Germany would eventually submit to “the Russian flag”
