The Southern Lapland Upper Secondary School Association has been reported to the Swedish Schools Inspectorate. The association is responsible for the municipalities of Storuman and Vilhelmina's upper secondary schools and offers students SEK 750 per month during the academic years.

The decision has met with strong criticism, including that this would violate the Education Act. The purpose of the scholarship is to promote students studying, says Eva Flodin, head of the Southern La Pland Upper secondary School Association.
