A Saudi government delegation arrived in the Iranian capital on Monday as part of the two countries' efforts to re-establish rapprochement. The Saudi Foreign Ministry tweeted that the Kingdom's delegation discussed the reopening of the embassy in Tehran and a consulate in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad.
A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the development of relations between the two parties will reflect positively on the countries of the region. This comes after a meeting between the Saudi and Iranian foreign ministers in Beijing last Thursday, in the first official meeting of its kind in more than 7 years.
