A Russian died as a result of an avalanche at the Gulmarg ski resort in India. One skier was killed and six others were rescued in a joint operation between the Indian Armed Forces and the regional administration.
An avalanche warning was issued in all areas of the Kashmir region after heavy snowfall last week. The avalanche took place on February 22 at approximately 14:00 local time in the city of Gulmarg, Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Russian Embassy in India confirmed the death of one of its citizens.
