A court in Karelia issued a verdict against a resident of Petrozavodsk, who was accused of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces. The man was sentenced to six years in prison to serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony.

Earlier, a court in Moscow sentenced human rights activist Oleg Orlov* to 2.5 years in jail for spreading fake news about the Russian armed forces. The accused posted false information on social networks about the actions of the Russian army in the Northern Military District zone.
