Smith's joining of Democrats demanding a new American approach to Israel comes after Democrat Tim Kaine rebuked the Biden administration for taking an unsuccessful approach to the war on Gaza. The US representative stressed the importance of President Joe Biden's calls for a temporary ceasefire, especially in the wake of Israel's targeting of the World Central Kitchen convoy last Monday.
