A bill has been submitted to the State Duma on a complete ban on medical sex reassignment operations. Last December, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law banning LGBT propaganda, gender reassignment and pedophilia.
"We propose to make an exception for congenital anomalies in children," Pyotr Tolstoy, deputy speaker of the lower house of parliament, wrote on his Telegram channel. According to him, in this case, medical intervention can be allowed only by decision of the medical commission of the federal state health institution.
