In response to the death of a 4-month-old boy at a child care facility in Tokyo's Setagaya Ward in December last year, Minister of State for Child Policy Kato asked local governments across the country to prevent sleeping at day care facilities under their jurisdiction in order to prevent a recurrence.
He expressed his intention to call for thorough safety measures inside the facility.
