“In Africa, there is not only the Sahel,” says the head of French diplomacy visiting Kenya. This is his first tour of sub-Saharan Africa since taking office in January.

The number of French companies in the country has almost tripled in ten years. There are 140 today which employ more than 30,000 people. Kenya and France are pushing together for an international tax that would help developing countries deal with climate change. Paris will host, on April 15, an international conference to discuss the issues in Sudan.
