Zhu Nenghong, a famous astronomical optical telescope expert and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, passed away. He died in Shanghai at 13:58 on March 8, 2024 due to ineffective treatment.

He has always adhered to the spirit of excellence and self-challenge, and has long been committed to the research of innovative technologies for astronomical optical telescopes. He presided over the design and took the lead in the successful development of my country's first 1.56-meter astrometric telescope with the largest diameter.
