Mongolian embroidery has a long history in Hejing County, Xinjiang. The Turghut nomads who returned to the east have embroidered their own folk customs.

The embroidered grassland-style works display the clothing and daily necessities of the Turghutt nomads and their craftsmanship. "I think this is not only a skill, but also an attitude towards life," says 83-year-old Saimir from Bayingolin Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture.
