One year after the devastating earthquake in Turkey, the Syrians in northwestern Syria are trying to resume their normal lives. Some of them returned to their destroyed homes to live in, and some of them chose to build tents on their ruins.
The 12-year-old girl, Maryam, who suffers from “mass syndrome,” talked about her attachment to her studies despite her suffering from the remnants of her injury. She said, “I do not want to lose an academic year of my life, as I am able to go to school on crutches.”
