The head of the Centre for the Training of Scholars in Mauritania, Sheikh Mohamed El Hassan Ould Dedew, believes that those who are about to get married should know the rules of marriage. He advises those who decide to marry not to look at ephemeral things such as beauty, but rather at the criteria that help the relationship continue.
He says that it is not permissible in Sharia to prolong the duration of the engagement, and the fiancé has no right to be alone with the fiancée.
