Climate change is already having immense consequences for European ski tourism. Völkl produces skis in Bavaria, TechnoAlpin from Bolzano helps with artificial snowmaking.

Both still have their main business in Europe - but climate change is forcing them to look to new growth markets far away from the Alps. Scientists at the Center National de Recherches Météorologiques in Grenoble predict that if global warming reaches two degrees, about half of the ski resorts in 28 European countries will be at high risk of snow shortages.
