Two astronaut candidates' training revealed for the first time, one year before selection. Osamu Suwa and Ayu Yoneda were selected as Japan's new astronaut candidates.

The two are currently undertaking a two-year basic training program for astronauts, which includes language training in English and Russian, as well as piloting small airplanes. They are scheduled to be officially certified as astronauts as early as November this year. The training of the two at a facility in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, has been published.
