Brunei's Crown Prince Almutadeh Billa and his wife have been staying in Japan since the 7th as state guests. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Brunei.

His Majesty the Emperor told Crown Prince Bila that his visit to Japan in this milestone year was of great significance, and agreed to import liquefied natural gas. He expressed his gratitude for the message of sympathy received from the King of Brunei in response to the Noto Peninsula earthquake.
