Theatres that rent their premises from the National Property Board of Sweden are criticising increased rents. Several scenes are afraid of not coping with the pressure.
"If this continues, a lot of culture will be blown out," says Sophia Artin at Teater Galeasen. Minister for Financial Markets Niklas Wykman does not think it is a solution to give rent discounts for cultural activities. The government says it is not possible to say anything about future appropriations now because it is part of government's budget preparation.
