A "digital twin" of the Titanic has been created from thousands of photographs taken from the bed of the Atlantic Sea. The pioneering White Star ship, built at Harland & Wolff's shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland, sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton to New York when it struck an iceberg on April 14, 1912.

The wreck was discovered in 1985 and, after successive operations of inspection of the environment, it was declared cultural heritage under the protection of Unesco. The project is being carried out by seafloor mapping expert Magellan and production company Atlantic.
