The author of the novel Today has been in prison for 35 years, 12 of which he spent in solitary confinement underground. He did not witness with his own eyes the post-Oslo Palestinian reality, but its echoes reached him, and he recorded in the novel - which we are stopping at today - his opinion at this juncture.

What he took on the Palestinian cause years after the Oslo Accords, as he considered it “seven lean days,” and made the end of his work open to say; We are not at the end, so are we today, after October 7, closer to the end?!
