[HIGHLIGHTS] The National Museum of Natural History was officially inaugurated and will become a landmark building on the south central axis of Beijing

The National Museum of Natural History is the only national-level and comprehensive natural history museum in China. It represents the national protection, research, collection, interpretation and display of natural objects and natural heritage.

The museum has a collection of more than 37,<> pieces, and the number of rare specimens ranks first in domestic natural history museums. As a bridge linking human society and the natural world, the museum is playing an increasingly pivotal role in coping with the challenges of the earth's ecological crisis.
