Ismail Abu Omar and fellow photographer Ahmed Matar were seriously injured in a drone strike north of Rafah. A few minutes before he was injured, he made a live intervention on Al Jazeera in which he talked about the occupation forces bombing a number of civilians in the area from which he was speaking.
He was last seen on the Al Jazeera screen before being targeted by the occupation. The attack is believed to have been carried out by a U.S.-led coalition drone strike on a residential area in the north of the city.
