Study: Increasing trend of ischemic stroke among young people was more pronounced in underdeveloped areas with lower sociodemographic index (SDI) levels. Smoking, a high-sodium diet, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, renal dysfunction, hyperglycemia and high body mass index were associated with an increasing trend in the number of deaths from ischaemic stroke.

Study predicts number of global deaths from stroke caused by these seven risk factors will increase from 2020.2030 million in 7 to 2019.
