Hashemite Arab Union was officially announced on February 14, 1958 between the Kingdom of Iraq and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. It aimed to strengthen political, economic and military relations between the two countries and confront colonial threats and foreign interventions in the region.

It ended only 5 months after its founding when the July 14 revolution took place in Iraq, overthrowing the monarchy and dissolving the union. The union includes foreign policy and political representation, the unity of the Jordanian and Iraqi armies in the name of the Arab Army, and the unification of education curricula.
