TEPCO begins releasing treated water from Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant into the sea for the fourth time. Approximately 7,800 tons are scheduled to be released by the middle of next month.

There have been no notable problems with the releases so far, and the tritium concentration in the seawater sampled around the plant is well below the standard for TEPCO to voluntarily decide to stop the release. However, during the process of treating contaminated water, a worker was temporarily hospitalized in October last year after being exposed to waste fluid containing radioactive materials.
