A study by the University of Sussex shows that seagulls choose which foods are worth eating. Of all the food offered to the birds, 48% of them chose to eat it.

The study shows that gulls can pay attention to the behaviour of humans and apply it to their own feeding choices. The results were published in the journal 'The Guardian' which is published by The University of Sussex, a division of the University of Sussex. The publication is available online at www.theguardian.co.uk.
