Storms have triggered numerous fire brigade operations, especially in North Rhine-Westphalia. It rained particularly heavily in Menden in the Sauerland region.
In Detmold, the fire brigade counted more than 120 operations from the afternoon to the early evening. In Baden-Württemberg, local storms in the afternoon occasionally filled cellars and underpasses. After a lightning strike in the signal box of the Ammertalbahn, train traffic in the Tübingen area was temporarily suspended.
