In conjunction with the spring fire prevention campaign that began on March 1st, a fire drill was held at a commercial facility adjacent to Haneda Airport. The training was attended by over 40 people, including firefighters from the Tokyo Fire Department and local fire departments.
Prior to the training, entertainer Miki Fujimoto was appointed fire chief for a day and was presented with her commission letter. 22 people died in fires in the area under its jurisdiction in the two months up to February this year.
