Sichuan Newspaper Museum opens in Chengdu to showcase the development history of Bashu newspaper industry. There are more than 360 pieces of literature, imaging materials, editing tools, printing facilities and equipment related to industry development.
In 1897, Sichuan's first modern newspaper "Yu Bao" was founded in Chongqing. This newspaper was founded by Song Yuren, a reform intellectual and a native of Fushun, S.ichuan, with the mission of saving the nation from extinction.
