Boeing 777 aircraft had "technical problems with one of its engines" on Tuesday. 216 passengers and 16 crew members were accommodated in emergency shelters.
Air India has not yet responded to a question about the nationalities of the passengers. A 16-year-old, who was traveling with his brother and uncle, told the AP news agency that they were not allowed to leave the accommodation. They would not be able to use their credit cards to buy items from the vending machine because of the sanctions against Russia.
