United Nations estimates indicate that Rafah Governorate, located in the southern Gaza Strip, now houses about 1.4 million Palestinians. The Israeli war on the Gaza Strip sent waves of displaced people from the north, center and south of the Strip towards Rafah, where there are only 3 hospitals.
International and UN officials warn of catastrophic effects if Israeli forces invade Rafah due to its overcrowding, in addition to the fact that the invasion will lead to the closure of the Rafah crossing with Egypt.
