Two men repeatedly abused two children in Pirmasens, Rhineland-Palatinate. One of the convicts is the mother's former partner.
The other convict is therefore his neighbor. The mother was working and left the girl and boy in the care of the defendant. She is said to have known about the crime without doing anything about it. The two defendants were each sentenced to four years in prison before the lay judges' court in Pirmedasens. The verdicts are legally binding, as a spokeswoman for the district court said.
