Paul McCartney has his Höfner bass back, which was stolen in 1972. The instrument was lost and people searched for it for years.
It has now been found again with considerable effort. Two investigative journalists from England were supported in the search by Nick Wass, a long-time employee of the company. The bass detectives explored the way forward and published a report on the status of their search in the British “Telegraph” in September 2023. The guitar has slight damage, but it can be repaired.
