Two holidaymakers from North Rhine-Westphalia got into mountain distress during a hike on the Watzmann in Bavaria. 16 mountain guards and two helicopters had been in action for up to seven hours.

After landing, the 37-year-old man and his 29- year-old companion complained that they had never been treated so badly as patients. The climbers did not want to leave their unpacked hut sleeping bag behind – as ordered to save time – so it had to be left behind.
