Former temporary employee of a subsidiary of NTT West was arrested for illegally taking company customer information and leaking it to a list agency. Police believe that he may have received money from a listing agent and are investigating the details of the incident.
Suspect Masahiro Kageyama (63) downloaded and duplicated file data containing customer information of companies in Okayama Prefecture from the company's server in January last year. He admitted to the charges during police investigation, but interviews with investigators revealed that he had stated his motive was, ''I did it because I was short of money.''
