Norway: King Harald V in hospital in Malaysia. The 87-year-old monarch is ‘being well cared for by both Malaysian and Norwegian medical staff.’ In 2020 he had a new heart valve inserted - for the second time.

He had already undergone heart valve surgery in 2005. At that time it was replaced by an artificial heart valve made of biological material. These have a lifespan of 10 to 15 years. It is therefore not unusual for such a flap to be replaced after a certain period of time.
