North Korea condemns removal of memorial monument for Korean workers in Gunma Prefecture. In a prefectural park in Takasaki City, Gunma prefecture, a civic group had obtained permission from the prefecture to set up a memorial monument.
The prefecture refused to renew the monument's installation permit, citing political comments, and removed the monument on behalf of the civic group. North Korea condemned this in the Labor Party's official newspaper Rodong Sinmun on the 6th, saying, "Gunma Prefection's thoughtless attitude is a challenge to all of our people"
