Scottish First Minister Humza Yousaf paid tribute to Sheridan as he began his weekly question session in the Scottish Parliament chamber, describing him as an "extremely talented journalist and author" The real reason for the journalist's death is unknown. It is only known that he suffered a brief illness that took his life. He joined BBC Scotland as a researcher, before becoming a reporter, correspondent and presenter.
