The majority of festival-goers travel by car to the biggest festivals, like Glastonbury. Free buses from train stations, higher parking fees and carpooling are other measures that could reduce emissions.

At Sweden Rock, the festival has just under 2,000 parking spaces, which could be reduced by using buses and trains to get to the festival. "If we cut down too much on parking, we can get safety deficiencies, that people put their cars where you are not allowed to," says one festival organiser.
