Nearly 200 cultural relics from the four birthplaces of civilization are unveiled at the National Maritime Museum. The exhibition takes the development of human civilization nurtured by the world's great river basins as its theme.

It focuses on the Mesopotamia, Nile River Basin, Indus River Basin and China's Yellow River and Yangtze River Basins. Tianjin is prosperous because of water. The geographical features of the lower reaches of the Yellow River have given birth to Tianjin’s cultural characteristics of both rivers and seas.
