[HIGHLIGHTS] More and more visits are made to the hospital specialist and dentist and less to the primary care physician

The National Institute of Statistics (INE) has just released the results of the Survey of Living Conditions (ECV) corresponding to the year 2022. The data reflect that Spaniards increasingly go to specialized care, hospitals, and also to the dentist, but less to primary care.

The percentage of people who visit the family doctor in primary school has fallen 2.7 points. Four out of 10 patients wait more than 3 months to see their specialist doctor, according to the INE. The INE statistics do not distinguish between public and private health.
