Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Saito briefs China on safety of treated water from Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, including IAEA report. Saito expressed his intention to provide a thorough explanation of safety to China, which continues to impose import restrictions on Japanese marine products, and to request the immediate lifting of the restrictions.
The IAEa has confirmed that the plan to dilute the treated water at the Fukushima nuclear plant to below standards and release it into the sea meets international safety standards as a result of its first investigation.
