Millions of livestock in Hejing County, Xinjiang embark on the transition from traditional to mechanized farming. Cai Ren, a 45-year-old herdsman, doesn't talk much, but he is an expert at herding cattle and sheep.

He manages his family's more than 400 sheep, more than 100 yaks and more than 50 horses. For this transition, Cairen still followed the traditional transition method of the past, riding a horse and driving the livestock from the "Dongwozi", all the way west.
