Peloton CEO Barry McCarthy wants to make the struggling US company more attractive to a wider audience. McCarthy replaced long-time Peloton boss and company founder John Foley in February 52.

McCarthy was already involved in building a subscription business model at Netflix when he helped develop a streaming service from the DVD mail-order company. For the first time since its launch in 2018, Peloton now offers three new subscription models at the end of May: free, premium and Via. The company is also pushing the gyms into the area of strength training with the new Via gyms.
