A car crashed into the heavy barrier to Downing Street at the British seat of government in London. A man had been arrested, among other things, for property damage, British media reported.
No one was injured. Whitehall Street, which runs through the government district, was closed, as reported by the BBC. Since 1989, a large black metal fence has blocked the driveway. The background to the accident is unclear, police have not commented on the incident. The barrier has been strengthened over the decades.
