Around 1.5 million people in Spain suffer from restless legs syndrome. The disease is caused by a problem in the passage of iron from the blood to the brain.

It affects women two to three times more than men. Pregnancy also increases the chances of suffering from the disease, confirms the doctor. "It can affect you at a given moment and, with luck, you won't have it again," says Dr. Óscar Larrosa, a clinical neurophysiologist and expert in the field.
