Living National Treasure and Ningyo Joruri Bunraku Dayu player Sakudayu Toyotake dies at the age of 79. His real name is Yozo Ikuta, and he was born in Osaka Prefecture.
He was recognized as a holder of the Important Intangible Cultural Property. In 2021 he was selected as a Person of Cultural Merit. He passed away from pneumonia at a hospital in Tokyo on January 31st. He was 79 years old. He is survived by his wife and two children.
