Learn about the gas fields of the Gaza Strip. The British company British Gas discovered gas off Gaza in September 2000.

Its production capacity reaches 1.5 billion cubic meters annually for 20 years, with revenues exceeding 3 billion dollars. Gaza gas is the first gas field to be discovered in the Middle East, and the Israeli occupation has prevented Palestinians from exploiting it for 25 years. Palestine imports 90% of its energy needs from Israel, while Israel supplies 80% of the energy needs of the country.
