Original drawings by Danish cartoonist Kurt Westergaard are now going under the hammer. The drawings show the Prophet Mohammed with a bomb in his turban.
It was published on September 30, 2005, along with eleven other cartoons, by the conservative Danish daily newspaper "Jyllands-Posten" As a result, there were protests and violence in several Muslim-majority countries. The highest bid for one of the cartoons on Friday was 445,000 euros. He died in 2021 at the age of 86 after living under police protection and in a secret residence.
